Security Specialist

U.S. Citizenship Required. This position requires a current TOP SECRET clearance. Candidate must be SAP program eligible.

This position is in-person.

Responsibilities

Assist with various facility and program activities that require coordination amongst security personnel program management customers and external stakeholders

• Attend security meetings to discuss logistics and ongoing actions
• Provide security support during customer meetings which requires occasional longer workdays
• Assist with drafting and updating security documentation i.e. SOPs OPSEC plans Security Test Plans Fixed Facility Checklist (FFCs) etc...
• Review security documentation validate office procedures and conduct physical security inspections
• Coordinate with the IT team to ensure hardware and software is properly documented accounted for and introduced into the facility space
• Assist with conducting security awareness training briefings indoctrinations and educational programs
• Ensure personnel folders (electronic/hard copy) are maintained and complete (i.e. include approved Program Access Request (PAR) training records Program Security Questionnaires (PSQs) and Program Indoctrination Agreement (PIA))
• Respond to alarms and other emergencies which may include periodic occurrences after normal business hours and/or during nights/weekends

• Bachelors degree in English Psychology Business Communications or equivalent experience
• Minimum of two years of direct DoD security experience
• U.S. citizenship and a final DoD TOP SECRET clearance
• Comprehensive knowledge of security manuals directives and Executive orders to include but not limited to; EO 13526 DoD 5220.22-M (NISPOM) ICD 705 DoDM 5200.01 Volumes 1-4 DoDM 5205.07 Volumes 1-4 DoDI 5205.11 and DoD 8500.01
• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Excel Word and Power Point)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills written and oral
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Self-motivated with an ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Daily on-site support during core business hours with occasional after-hours security support

The annual pay range for the Security Specialist is $80000 to $110000.

The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position at a full time level of effort exclusive of overtime bonus and benefits-related compensation over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Toyon Research Corporation will consider the individual candidates education work experience applicable knowledge skills and training among other factors when preparing an offer of employment.
