Role: Security Project Manager / Security Operations Lead
Location: Fort Lee NJ
Schedule: Onsite daily with field travel as needed (approximately 50% office / 50% field)
Duration: 3-6 Month Contract-to-Hire
Hands-on physical security professional who progressed from technician installer or systems engineer into a project management/operations leadership role with strong experience supporting and troubleshooting access control CCTV burglar alarms fire/life safety systems door hardware and security integrations.
Technical leader who can oversee security projects and day-to-day operations provide guidance and scheduling support to a team of technicians conduct site assessments and field walkthroughs manage escalations and help grow the security department while remaining involved in the field.
Overview
Seeking a hands-on Security Project Manager / Security Operations Lead to oversee ongoing physical security operations and security-related projects. This is not a traditional PM role. The ideal candidate started their career as a security technician installer or systems engineer and progressed into project management and team leadership while maintaining strong technical expertise.
This individual will serve as the technical escalation point for the team provide guidance and mentorship coordinate resources and schedules oversee projects and help grow the security department.
Responsibilities
Manage ongoing physical security projects and day-to-day security operations
Provide technical leadership troubleshooting assistance and escalation support
Coordinate technician schedules and shared resources across multiple projects
Conduct site visits assessments walkthroughs and project oversight
Oversee installations upgrades maintenance activities and rapid-response issues
Work directly with clients vendors and internal stakeholders
Assist with department growth process improvement and operational efficiency
Ensure projects are completed on time and meet customer expectations
Required Experience
7 years of experience supporting physical security systems
Hands-on background with installation service troubleshooting or engineering of security systems
Experience leading projects coordinating teams or serving in a lead/foreman capacity
Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills
Comfortable splitting time between office responsibilities and field work
