POSITION OVERVIEW
The Gentex Security Operations Center (GSOC) Specialist II is a key member of the Security Department responsible for monitoring security and life safety systems coordinating incident response and supporting protective operations. This role now includes monitoring global and regional threat intelligence assessing risks to Gentex personnel and assets and supporting travel security protocols. The GSOC Specialist II ensures a safe and secure environment through vigilance rapid response and world-class customer service.
This position is working 3rd shift 11 p.m.- 7 a.m. Sunday through Thursday in Zeeland MI.
WHAT YOULL DO
- Monitor and operate security systems including access control video surveillance and intrusion detection systems.
- Track and analyze threat intelligence feeds news sources and security alerts to identify risks to Gentex operations personnel and facilities.
- Provide situational awareness briefings and threat assessments to Security leadership.
- Support travel security by monitoring global events issuing advisories and coordinating response protocols for traveling employees.
- Dispatch Security Specialists and Emergency Response Team members to incidents involving medical fire hazmat or security threats.
- Conduct surveillance and overwatch using video technology during elevated-risk situations or special events.
- Monitor critical infrastructure systems (HVAC compressed air nitrogen RO water electrical) and report anomalies.
- Issue access credentials and keys to contractors and maintain accountability.
- Perform audits and testing of security systems and emergency notification platforms.
- Complete detailed shift activity logs and incident reports.
- Assist in coordinating protective operations for high-profile visitors or events.
- Follow all security protocols and procedures with precision and accuracy.
- Support the Security Managers and Protection Specialists with special projects and operational needs.
- Other duties as assigned.

WHAT TO BRING
- Associates degree in Criminal Justice Emergency Management or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 years of experience in security operations or a related field.
- Familiarity with incident response and monitoring processes.
- Ability to work non-standard hours holidays and weekends as needed.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certifications.
WHAT WILL HELP
- Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice Emergency Management or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4 years of experience in security operations or a related field.
- Experience working in or supporting a Security Operations Center.
- Knowledge of security systems such as:
- Video Management Systems (VMS)
- Access Control
- Mass Notification
- Threat Intelligence/Incident Management tools
- Travel Security/Tracking platforms
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Bilingual or Spanish-speaking skills preferred.
