Job Title: Security Officer

Employment Type:Part Time 16 hours per week

Shift:Day Shift weekends
Location: St. Mary Medical Center

Position Purpose

• The Security Officer is responsible for the security of hospital employees patients/families visitors and property.

As a Security Officer you will:

• Serve our customers and provide high quality service with care and courtesy.

• Treat customers/patients in a respectful manner.

• Report all accidents or incidents promptly.

• Correct and/or report any potential safety hazard you see.

• Take ownership for a safe comfortable and clean environment

• Makes appropriate safety and security rounds.

• Maintains watch on the employee parking lot.

• Opens/locks buildings as appropriate.

• Use/extinguish premises light & turn in a list of defective lights as appropriate.

• Conduct/assist with missing person reports.

• Provide escort services to visitors.

• Maintain smooth control of traffic.

• Assist motorists involved in vehicle breakdowns.

• Maintains safety practices in the area of his/her assignment.

  Has oversight of the SOC (Security Operations Center)

  Handles Duties associated with the Operation of Metal Detector and Wanding

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED

• Valid drivers license with a good driving record

• 1-2 years customer service-related experience in a hospital setting

• Prior Hospital Security Officer experience preferred

• Fingerprints and background check during the hiring process
