The Opportunity

Were looking for a part-time Security Guard who can offer a friendly welcome while keeping a watchful eye on our Stamford facility. Youll be part of the Guest Services team helping members and guests find their way spotting safety concerns and responding calmly when something needs attention. On assigned shifts you may also serve as a keyholder and the main point of contact for building matters.

Schedule:Approximately 1520 hours per week primarily weekday evenings and weekends with future potential for a full-time schedule

Compensation:$18$22 per hour

Primary Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests answer questions and provide directions with a helpful professional approach.
• Monitor the building and grounds complete scheduled rounds and address or report safety and security concerns.
• Help direct vehicles cyclists and pedestrians at parking areas loading areas and crosswalks.
• Respond to incidents promptly follow established procedures and complete accurate incident or accident reports.
• Address loitering alcohol consumption and illegal drug use on site in accordance with Chelsea Piers policies.
• Coordinate with Guest Services Maintenance and Housekeeping when support is needed.
• Serve as the main point of contact for building matters during assigned shifts when designated.
• During closing shifts confirm that guests have exited and doors are secured and alarmed.

• Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
• A calm sound approach to handling unexpected situations.
• The ability to set boundaries and convey authority respectfully.
• A team mindset and a willingness to help wherever needed.
• The ability to stand or walk for up to six hours at a time and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• A private security license is preferred.
