• High School Diploma or equivalent

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

• Prior registration with the Louisiana State Board of Private Security Examiners preferred; must be able to register within one year of accepting position preferred.

EXPERIENCE

• 2 years previous security or police experience required

JOB KNOWLEDGE

• Must have general knowledge of security procedures
• Must be able to monitor alarm boards for signs of disturbances
• Must be able to perform simplemaintenance reporting on departmental equipment including boilers chillersand other Plant equipment; able to communicate to key Plant Operationspersonnel vital operational abnormalities.

PRINCIPLE TASKS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Protect hospital property and personnelto patrol hospital property to ensure a safe environment for employeesvisitors and staff.
• Maintain the security of hospitalfacilities and grounds of institutions by preventing crime and vandalism
• Maintain traffic and parking control andenforcement of traffic and parking regulations
• Enforce hospital safety policies andprocedures
• Provide escort service for employeesvisitors and patients and patrol parking lots asrequested
• Performs security rounds at assignedintervals and record activity on hospital provided format
• Performs monthly inspection of all fireextinguisher and document findings on hospital provided format
• Performs weekly inspections of low waterusage area and document findings on hospital provided format
• Document and record all humidity rangesin specified locations as per rounding schedule
• Document and record boiler and chilleractivity at specified intervals
• Ensures that doors and windows areproperly shut and locked prevents the admittance to the premises ofunauthorized persons;
• Investigates unusual conditions andimmediately reports these conditions to his Supervisor
• Document security incidents in writingand provide to EOC/Facilities Coordinator
• Turns out lights prevents damage toHospital property and enforces various Hospital Rules and Requirements
• Report any equipment malfunctions to Plant Operations On Call and/or Plant Supervisor
