With 50 locations and 100 programs in NYCs most under-served communities our 1000 results-oriented professionals make a difference for more than 40000 children and their families each SummaryThe security guard is responsible for securing the personnel clients and premises including enforcing and maintaining order in the FunctionsPatrol center and grounds regularly to prevent and/or detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of center doors windows and gates. Maintain a high visibility presence by circulating among visitors and disturbances and/or any unusual occurrences (i.e. property and/or equipment damage theft and injury).Warn persons of rule infractions or violations and evict violators when authorities in cases of emergency such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons (as directed by Recreational Director). Perform other related duties as Saturday 4:30pm 9:00pm*Flex hours for the week evening shifts as an on call staff* (provided 4 5 hours advance notice)QualificationsHS diploma or equivalencyExperience working with diverse social cultural and economic groups especially youth Previous work experience in securityGood communication negotiation and listening skillsAptitude for motivating people and working in diverse and challenging situationsCompleted security training course (Preferred)Strong knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols (Preferred)Bilingual in one or more of the following: Spanish Mandarin Cantonese Bengali and others may be required depending on client needs (Preferred)The Child Center of NY is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
