Position Summary

To provide protection and security of building grounds and their residents staff or visitors and to enforce site rules of behavior in buildings and grounds calling for police to take any law enforcement action other than simple corrective measures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provides protection and security of buildings grounds and their residents staff or visitors.

Inspection of buildings grounds and equipment for safety.

Enforces site rules of behavior in buildings and grounds and must call for police to take any law enforcement action other than simple corrective measures.

Security Guards may enforce parking rules by issuing warnings.

May only use force to protect self or others from assault or to detain persons if necessary for serious criminal violations committed in guards view or has clear evidence of

Remains on post at all times except for brief rest periods.

Takes special care not to disturb patrons or staff while patrolling inside buildings.

Prepares and presents oral and written reports on any strange or criminal activity observed.

Opens buildings and turns on lights and heat as necessary; turns off unnecessary lights; locks and unlocks public access doors.

Monitors vehicles in parking areas to prevent vandalism or theft; responds to situations parking incidents and other disturbances or situations and calls law enforcement to investigate if any criminal activity is discovered.

Expels loiterers or non-serious violators without use of force.

Keeps daily security logs of all incidents and reports incidents to management.

Collects and documents Urinalysis samples as directed.

Reports to Lead Security and or direct Supervisor of any criminal activity.

Enforces and complies with policies and procedures and follows written and verbal instructions.

Responds to emergencies and employs effective course of action.

Diffuses altercations and problem situations.

Writes clear and concise reports.

Communicates with hostile clients.

Responsible for taking inventory of supplies needed for the clinic.

Handles the internal mail and packages sent out.

Assist with All vendors and deliveries puts supplies away.

Gathers and preserves evidence.

Assists law enforcement and fire department personnel.

Assists front desk by answering phones and checking clients in.

Assists Drivers by checking for ROI on file for transportation.

All other duties assigned by the supervisor

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Good command and previous training on security skills and needs.

Ability to operate general office equipment including photocopiers adding machines and computers.

Occasionally requires stooping which entails the use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Infrequently requires crouching.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Qualifications

High School graduate or GED.

Ability to pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

WA state Drivers license and ability to be approved by Tribal insurance to drive Tribal vehicles.

Available to work a flexible schedule based on specific needs of the clinic or social service department.
