Job Summary: | The Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (Anschutz Medical Campus) and Childrens Hospital Colorado is recruiting a fellowship trained Pediatric Plastic Surgeon for a 1.0 FTE position available at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor to act as Section Head for the Pediatric Plastic Surgery Program. The Section Head will be responsible for program academic and service-related duties at the University of Colorado Anschutz and Childrens Hospital Colorado. Nature of Work: The Section Head of Pediatric Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery will provide strategic medical leadership and direction for operations of the unit across clinical care research and be responsible for hospital department chair duties as outlined in Medical Staff Bylaws. Scope of responsibility will include strategic practice management business development provider recruitment and retention and delivery of outstanding faculty patient and referring provider primary responsibility for establishing accountability with providers regarding CHCO policies and procedures operational standards and quality and service excellence initiatives. Position includes responsibility for Childrens Hospital Colorado (CHCO) member of CHCO care delivery leadership team and participates in all strategic discussions and operational planning for their department. Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Associate Professor: Board Certification in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Completion of Pediatric Plastic Surgery Fellowship (ACGME accredited) Ability to obtain license to practice as a physician in the state of Colorado with prescriptive privileges 4 years experience in pediatric plastic surgery practice for Associate Professor rank Professor: Board Certification in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Completion of Pediatric Plastic Surgery Fellowship (ACGME accredited) Ability to obtain license to practice as a physician in the state of Colorado with prescriptive privileges 7 years experience in pediatric plastic surgery practice for Professor rank Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an academic clinical environment Demonstrated Leadership experience (medical teams or hospital group) Experience in clinical or basic science research Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Motivate excellence and teamwork among providers and staff fostering interdisciplinary collaboration Exemplary leadership with regards to conflict resolution among all team members Strong leadership skills including interpersonal communication interdisciplinary collaboration problem resolution decision-making and project/change management Ability to integrate clinical quality/patient safety management and financial concepts within a pediatric academic healthcare setting Experience in leading high-performing cross-functional teams; designing and implementing processes for strong and effective clinical and practice management operations Commitment to ensuring an excellent patient experience Promotes and adheres to the CHCO Standards of Behavior and hold providers accountable for adherence Promotes the four-fold mission of clinical care research education and advocacy | |

Anticipated Pay Range: | The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: $450000 to $600000 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
