The Santa Margarita Water District (SMWD or the District) is seeking an experienced relationship-oriented and highly adaptable public sector professional to serve as Secretary to the Board a critical role that supports effective forward-thinking and collaborative governance. A key member of the General Managers Office the Secretary to the Board serves as the primary liaison to SMWDs elected Board of Directors oversees administrative staff and ensures efficiencies at the highest levels of the organization. Key responsibilities include managing public meetings of the Board and associated committees coordinating the Districts records management program serving as the Districts Elections Official and providing administrative support for board members. This role is best suited for someone highly relational who genuinely enjoys collaborating with others and is comfortable working across the entire organization. The ideal candidate brings experience supporting elected officials in a California public sector setting broad knowledge of relevant laws and regulations strong organizational skills and the sound judgment needed to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
