Seasonal Photo Editor

NFL Media is seeking a seasonal photo editor to join our team for the 2026-2027 Season. The NFLs photo department manages still imagery across our digital platforms and League groups including editorial social and marketing. The ideal candidate has a passion for football and visual storytelling and a drive to find the most engaging images for our audience. The position will primarily focus on sourcing image assets for daily news coverage creating story-driven photo essays and editing images incoming live from games. Other responsibilities may include assistance producing photo shoots and providing event editing support.

Responsibilities

• Produce image assets for news stories on NFL digital platforms - source and crop thumbnails for articles and videos produce feature art for centerpiece stories using image templates.
• Live edit game and tentpole images according to editorial standards: crop tone and caption in real time. Distribute images for use across NFL ecosystem.
• Assist with maintaining in-house image archive and distribution of NFL images. Ensure proper archival of incoming images from games events and photoshoots.
• Provide still photo coverage of NFL Media shows as needed. Shoot on set edit and archive images.
• Assist with content for Photo department Instagram account: developing content selecting and posting images
• Assist with photo research projects as needed.

Required Qualifications

• 2-5 years experience photo editing for digital media preferably for editorial outlets.
• Knowledge of best practices for editorial images. Experience captioning and applying metadata to editorial standards.
• Bachelors degree with emphasis in photography visual design or equivalent experience.
• Fluency in Adobe Photoshop and Photo Mechanic.
• Available to work evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in sports photography preferred.
• Familiarity with content management systems and FTP clients.
• Familiarity with photography rights and licensing.
• Experience in live event coverage a plus.

• Ability to multitask prioritize workload and meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Passion for the NFL familiarity with NFL news and storylines.

Travel

• Potential for travel during tentpole events as needed

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

• Must have weekend availability
• 7-month employment period

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances where an external candidate has experience credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
