Job Summary

Job Title: Scrum Master Team Leader

Location: Washington DC

Duration: 6 Months

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master to support Agile program delivery within a complex enterprise environment. This role will serve as a servant leader facilitating Agile processes coaching teams toward high performance removing impediments and fostering a culture of continuous improvement accountability and collaboration.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading Agile teams driving organizational Agile adoption resolving team conflicts and guiding teams toward self-organization and Agile maturity.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience as a Scrum Master supporting multiple Agile teams in complex matrixed organizations
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM II or higher) required
  • Advanced Agile certifications preferred including:
    • Certified Scrum Professional (CSP)
    • SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)
  • Proven experience building self-organizing high-performing Agile teams
  • Demonstrated success overcoming resistance to Agile adoption and driving measurable improvements in team performance
  • Strong experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and coaching Agile best practices
  • Expertise in conflict resolution stakeholder management and organizational change management
  • Experience working within established Agile governance frameworks and organizational standards
  • Government or highly regulated industry experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning Daily Standups Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives
  • Coach Agile teams on Scrum principles Agile values and continuous improvement practices
  • Foster team accountability ownership and self-organization
  • Identify track and remove team-level impediments
  • Escalate organizational blockers and risks to appropriate stakeholders
  • Promote collaboration psychological safety and effective team communication
  • Guide teams through Agile maturity and cultural transformation initiatives
  • Partner with Product Owners and Agile leadership to support effective backlog management and delivery planning
  • Monitor team health performance metrics and delivery predictability
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through actionable retrospective outcomes
  • Support Agile adoption and organizational transformation efforts
