Job Title: Scrum Master / Kanban Coach

Location: Washington DC (Hybrid 4 Days Onsite)

Job Summary

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Scrum Master / Kanban Coach on behalf of our client in Washington DC. This role is ideal for an experienced Agile professional who is passionate about enabling high-performing teams driving continuous improvement and delivering business value within a SAFe Agile environment. The successful candidate will facilitate Agile practices remove delivery impediments manage dependencies and coach teams to achieve predictable and high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Agile Facilitation & Delivery

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning Daily Stand-ups Sprint Reviews Retrospectives and Backlog Refinement sessions.

• Support Program Increment (PI) Planning activities and help align team objectives with organizational goals.

• Promote transparency collaboration and delivery predictability across Agile teams.

Agile Coaching & Team Enablement

• Coach teams Product Owners and stakeholders on Agile principles Scrum Kanban and SAFe best practices.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement accountability and team empowerment.

• Encourage adoption of Agile methodologies and effective ways of working.

Impediment & Dependency Management

• Identify and remove obstacles that impact team productivity and delivery.

• Proactively manage risks dependencies and cross-functional coordination efforts.

• Collaborate with Scrum Masters Agile Coaches and other stakeholders to resolve delivery challenges.

Agile Tools & Reporting

• Maintain and track Agile work items using Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar Agile management tools.

• Utilize collaboration platforms such as Miro or Mural for planning workshops and retrospectives.

• Provide visibility into team progress risks and key delivery metrics.

Continuous Improvement & Quality

• Drive data-informed improvements using Agile and flow-based metrics.

• Facilitate retrospectives and implement actionable improvements.

• Support delivery of high-quality product increments aligned with established quality standards and Definition of Done.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering Software Development Organizational Change Management Marketing or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.

• 5 7 years of experience serving as a Scrum Master and/or Kanban Coach in Agile delivery environments.

• Strong experience working within SAFe Agile frameworks.

• Hands-on experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and Program Increment (PI) Planning.

• Proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO) Jira or similar Agile project management tools.

• Excellent communication facilitation stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.

• SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) certification is required.
