The Scientist Level I will report directly to the Laboratory Lead/Supervisor/Manager/Site Quality Lead and after training will perform routine wet chemistry testing in compliance with laboratory test methods and procedures to support the manufacturing and timely delivery of products to customers (80 to 100%). As a trainee Scientist 1 must have the ability to assimilate and apply information rapidly. The Scientist I will receive general instructions about required tasks and results expected. Work will be well defined and is reviewed for accuracy upon completion. Scientist 1 is expected to apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations and to recognize discrepancies in results and follow operations through a series of detailed steps and processes. Scientist 1 should understand Laboratory investigations reports and processes and can use basic Laboratory instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintains laboratory instruments in their qualified state.
Initiates and participates in laboratory investigations of non-conforming laboratory test results.
Prepares standards reagents and controls according to established procedures.
Use test equipment (Gas Chromatograph UV-VIS ICP FTIR and others. where applicable).
Develops competence upon training in the use of laboratory instruments and equipment
Performs daily calibrations/verifications and routine maintenance of laboratory instrumentation and equipment according to current SOPs.
Works in compliance with current GMPs about documenting testing and maintaining accurate laboratory notebooks and data sheets.
Routine testing and releasing on time. Keep instruments in a qualified state and communicate delays.
Collects and prepares laboratory records for evaluation following good documentation practices.
Qualifications
Education:
University/bachelors degree in Chemistry.
Generally requires 0-2 years of related work experience
Experience and Skills:
Required:
Generally requires 0-2 years of related work experience
Strong background and knowledge of Laboratory cGMP Environment.
Preferred:
Prefer experience in medical devices or life science management quality management or related field (Medical Devices Pharma biotechnology or equivalent).
