Position: Scientist I Analytical Chemistry
Location: North Chicago IL (100% Onsite) Contract Duration: 12 Months Schedule: Monday Friday 40 Hours/Week (Overtime as Needed)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Scientist I Analytical Chemistry to support pharmaceutical product development programs within a fast-paced R&D environment. This role will focus on analytical testing method execution data interpretation and laboratory support for both commercial and pipeline small-molecule products.
This opportunity is ideal for an early-career analytical chemist with hands-on laboratory experience and a passion for pharmaceutical development and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Perform analytical testing to generate accurate reliable and reproducible data.
Support development and characterization of commercial and pipeline small-molecule pharmaceutical products.
Operate troubleshoot and maintain analytical instrumentation including:
HPLC
Gas Chromatography (GC)
Titration Systems
Spectroscopic Instruments
Analyze and interpret experimental data to support project objectives.
Investigate analytical challenges and assist in method optimization and problem resolution.
Design and execute laboratory experiments under established protocols.
Author technical reports protocols and scientific documentation.
Maintain accurate records using electronic laboratory notebooks and laboratory systems.
Present findings and experimental results to project teams.
Ensure compliance with GMP requirements laboratory procedures and data integrity standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Chemistry Pharmaceutical Sciences Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
2 years of laboratory experience in analytical chemistry or pharmaceutical development.
Hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC GC titrations and spectroscopy.
Strong data analysis and troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
