Our client a world leader in biotechnology and life sciences is looking for a Scientist - Biochemical Assay Development.

Location: South San Francisco CA
Job Duration: Long-Term Contract (Possibility Of Extension)
Rate: $60 - $64/hr on W2

We are seeking a motivated Scientist to join the Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology team. This hands-on laboratory role will focus on developing and executing biochemical and cell-based induced-proximity assays to support the discovery and validation of novel therapeutic compounds. The scientist will analyze experimental data troubleshoot assays and collaborate with Pharmacology Protein Science Medicinal Chemistry and Research Biology teams to advance early-stage drug discovery programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute biochemical and cellular assays measuring proteinprotein and proteinsmall molecule interactions.
  • Design and perform induced-proximity assays supporting screening lead identification and compound validation.
  • Analyze complex experimental datasets using GraphPad Prism Python R or similar tools.
  • Troubleshoot assay performance and optimize protocols for quality reproducibility and throughput.
  • Present findings prepare technical reports and collaborate with multidisciplinary drug discovery teams.
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. or M.S. in Biochemistry Biophysics Cellular/Molecular Biology or a related field.
  • 13 years of hands-on laboratory experience in biotechnology pharmaceutical or academic research.
  • Strong experience developing validating and executing cellular and biochemical assays.
  • Direct experience with induced proximity molecular glues bivalent degraders ternary complexes or related modalities.
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex experimental systems.
Preferred Skills
  • Protein biochemistry recombinant protein expression molecular biology cell culture and Western blot.
  • Experience with NanoBRET NanoBiT TR-FRET BRET or imaging-based assays.
  • Familiarity with liquid handlers plate washers and automated/semi-automated laboratory systems.
  • Experience supporting drug discovery screening and lead optimization programs.
  • Strong collaboration communication problem-solving and ability to adapt to changing research priorities.
