Scientific Research Project Manager

Position Summary
The Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks to hire a full-time Scientific Research Program Manager ( SPM ) to support the advancement of the mission of multiple human subjects observational studies and clinical trials with a focus in breast cancer clinical research. Responsible for managing all oncologic clinical and translational studies under the Supervising Principal Investigators (PI) portfolio the successful candidate will be highly organized detail oriented and familiar with human subjects observational studies and clinical trials. The SPM will be responsible for the management of day-to-day administrative operational and project management work across multiple studies and sites. Duties may include coordination of project stakeholders participation in project design and implementation leading discussions with administrative and clinical project partners managing patient-facing clinical coordination monitoring project progress and goals and providing budgetary management. Time will be dedicated to supporting protocol development and monitoring by working closely with regulatory staff and study teams to develop study protocol prepare IRB applications and modifications monitor study timelines and research activities ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements standard operation procedures (SOPs) study protocols and overall research objectives. The SPM will review and edit scientific sections for proposals and will monitor the progress of grants from submission through internal and external systems to No Cost Extension or grant closeout; strong acumen when developing research grant applications is needed. May train and supervise research assistants students and/or temporary employees as assigned.

Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
* Masters degree in Epidemiology Public Health or another related field of study. * Demonstrated strong communication and listening skills with the ability to synthesize information solve problems and communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders. * Demonstrated commitment to advancing oncology research and/or the mission of the LCCC including a service-oriented approach to improving research outcomes. * At least 5 years of experience managing epidemiological and/or clinical research studies. * Experience in data abstraction and management in Electronic Medical Records fundamental statistical analyses and SAS coding literature synthesis for development of grants and manuscripts. * Hands-on independent highly motivated detail oriented and organized. Able to lead meetings presentations and communications to multiple audiences.

Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Specific knowledge of oncological basics and breast cancer. Experience in supervising and collaborating undergraduate graduate and early-career researchers.
