Job Description:
Serves as a senior technical authority responsible forthedesign development and optimization of advanced scientific software supporting NASA Earth science modeling and high-performance computing technical leadership in the development and enhancement of modeling frameworks computational tools and software infrastructure while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve the performance scalability and reliability of scientific applications.
KeyResponsibilitiesInclude:
- Design develop andoptimizescientific software and modeling frameworks.
- Develop and enhance software infrastructure supporting Earth system modeling and high-performance computing.
- Improve application performance scalability and computational efficiency.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to implement new modeling capabilities and software enhancements.
- Review test and document software to ensure quality reliability and maintainability.
Requirements
- PhD orMastersdegree6additionalyears of experiencein Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or related field.
- Approximately 15 years of relevant experience.
- Expert knowledge of scientific software development and HPC.
- Demonstrated technical leadership on large research or government programs.
