Description:
The Cumberland Valley School District is seeking a highly qualified and student-centered Science Teacher for Mountain View Middle School. The successful candidate will deliver rigorous standards-aligned instruction that supports student achievement and fosters critical thinking problem solving and scientific process/reasoning. This position requires a commitment to collaboration continuous professional growth and meeting the diverse learning needs of all students.

Responsibilities Include:

• Planning and delivering effective science instruction aligned to Pennsylvania Academic Standards
• Utilizing data-informed instructional practices and formative assessment to support student learning
• Creating a positive inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and high expectations
• Willingness to work as part of a grade-level team
• Collaborating with colleagues in professional learning communities (PLCs)
• Integrating instructional technology and best practices in science education
• Communicating effectively with students parents and staff
• Participating in professional development and school-based initiatives
• Thorough knowledge of the physical and psychological aspects of secondary school aged children.
• The professional candidate(s) selected for this assignment understands and agrees that they may be required to teach in a blended or online format as requested by administration.
  

Qualifications:

• Active and valid Middle Level Science (4-8) or Secondary (7-12) General Science Pennsylvania Teaching Certification
• Strong content knowledge and instructional skills in secondary science
• Experience differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Experience with standards-based grading data analysis or instructional technology is preferred
