Science Teacher Monroe Middle School

• Plan and deliver standards-based science instruction aligned with the Michigan Academic Standards.
• Develop engaging lessons that encourage inquiry experimentation and scientific investigation.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the academic social and emotional needs of diverse learners.
• Create a positive safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies technology and laboratory experiences to enhance student learning.
• Assess student progress using formal and informal assessments and use data to guide instructional decisions.
• Maintain accurate student records grades and documentation in accordance with district expectations.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams special education staff instructional coaches and administrators to support student success.
• Participate in professional learning communities district professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Supervise students during assigned duties and school-sponsored activities.
• Maintain classroom equipment laboratory materials and instructional resources in a safe and organized manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the building administrator.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate with a DI (Science) endorsement.
• Demonstrated knowledge of middle school science curriculum and instructional best practices.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students families colleagues and community members.
• Commitment to equity inclusion and meeting the needs of all learners.
• Ability to effectively integrate educational technology into daily instruction.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching middle school science.
• Experience implementing inquiry-based and project-based learning.
• Experience using student assessment data to improve instruction.
