TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the School Board
REPORTS TO: Principal/Safety Coordinator
JOB GOALS: To effectively perform routine assigned duties of safety and physical security under the supervision of a school administrator. To conduct routine patrols secure buildings and check for safety hazards
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Such duties as may be assigned including but not limited to the following:
Meets all professional conduct standards as set by MS Educator Code of EthicsStandards of Conduct
Patrols and monitors the campus and surrounding areas bus stops parks and other public and unsupervised places to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff and the security
Displays ethical and professional behavior in working with students parents school personnel and outside agencies associated with the school
Promotes student responsibility for behavior and attitude by serving as a role model and dressing and grooming professionally. Assists parents with the completion of school documents (e.g. registration packets) for the purpose of facilitating the exchange of accurate information between school and home
Intervenes in situations likely to result in disruption/injury and directs students to refrain from conduct
Ensures a smooth traffic flow of students through the hallways assisting students with on time arrival to class and assigned locations
Assists with supervision in the breakfast and lunch periods and with morning arrival and afternoon dismissal of students
Assists the staff police and emergency personnel in handling emergencies or disruptive situations
Assists visitors with directions and securing proper identification. Intercept unauthorized visitors and escort them to exits
Notifies the building administration police and/or appropriate emergency personnel of any emergency potentially dangerous or unusual situations
Reports on time to duty posts and performs duty responsibilities as assigned by school administration
Follows all board policies and procedures
Maintains regular attendance and is punctual
Promotes the districts vision mission and goals
Performs any other duties as assigned by school administration
JOB EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel
