Job Description

The Stepping Stones Group (sister company of Kinetic) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a contracted school-based placement in Danbury NC for the school year. This is a full-time position supporting a local K12 district with private-duty/1:1 nursing services.

Working with The Stepping Stones Group provides consistent pay clinical support from experienced nurses and support from a team specializing in school-based nursing.

Minimum Requirements

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina
• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification
• Demonstrated competency in the specific skills required for the assigned student including:
  • Tube feedings and management
  • Oxygen and airway management
  • Medication administration
  • Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work independently in a non-clinical environment
• Experience working with the pediatric population

Additional Requirements

• Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff families therapists and healthcare providers
• Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Prior school-based experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous observation of the assigned student throughout the school day
• Implement and monitor student health plans
• Accompany the student during transportation and community-based activities when assigned
• Communicate significant changes in the students status to family school staff and clinical leadership
• Provide first aid daily medical care and emergency support
• Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and HIPAA requirements
