Description Job Title: CHS School Improvement Coordinator
Reports To: Building Administrator
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Professional duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks:
- Communicate with students who have poor attendance or have dropped out to re-engage them with our schools and programs as well as assist in the transition
- Provide follow-up support and encourage both student and parent engagement in school activities
- Teach elective academic elective or college and career-related courses
- Assists assigned administrator(s) in coordinating a variety of programs and/or activities (e.g. task assignments meetings site inservice activities assessments planningetc.)
- Communicates with other departments buildings and/or agencies for the purpose of coordinated eective and ecient operations
- Communicate and work closely with the regular classroom teachers while supporting tiered student interventions
- Supporting classroom teachers in differentiating curriculum to assist students to build confidence in learning
- Coordinate with school counselors to identify support and design credit recovery programs for students
- Developing and implementing curriculum for various classes
- Retrieve prepare and report data as requested
- Assist testing director administrator with preparation delivery and management of testing materials as needed
- Active team member of student support teams such as 9th grade on track Graduate Intervention Team Student Support team (MTSS) etc.
- Assist with the implementation of approved programs that support student progress towards completing a high school diploma or equivalent
- Develop student academic and vocational plans and monitor progress towards completion
- Composes documents (e.g. standardized correspondence bulletins newsletters etc.) for the purpose of documenting events providing and/or requesting information
- Maintains databases documents les records forms and formats ( records subnder maintenance requests building keys oce procedures all forms building personnel records student les etc.) for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance
- Maintains a safe learning environment for students at all times
- Reports safety sanitary and re hazards immediately to the supervisor
- Maintains appropriate certications and training hours as required
- Complies with applicable District policies and procedures state local and federal laws rules and regulations
- Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external parties by phone letter and/or in person (e.g. sta parents students public agencies etc.) for the purpose of providing information facilitating communication among parties and/or providing direction
- Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with students sta and community
- Supports assigned administrative personnel for the purpose of providing assistance with their administrative functions
- Attends work regularly and is punctual
- Attends in-services trainings and sta meetings as required
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner
- Exchange and retrieve information in person and on the telephone
- Apply policies and procedures related to the assigned duties and responsibilities of the position with good judgement in a variety of situations
