JOB SUMMARY: The Harrisburg School District is seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our team as School Bus Drivers. Bus drivers play a vital role in the districts daily operations by ensuring that students are transported safely and efficiently to and from school.

Harrisburg School District operates on a four-day school week (MondayThursday) with some Friday workdays as needed. The position has a start time of 6:30 a.m. and scheduled hours will be determined based on district needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely transport students to and from school field trips and other district-sanctioned events.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in good operating condition.
• Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and school district policies.
• Monitor student behavior on the bus ensuring a safe and respectful environment.
• Communicate effectively with students parents and school staff.
• Report any mechanical issues delays or accidents to the appropriate authorities promptly.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a School Bus (S) endorsement.
• Clean driving record with no history of major violations.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience reliability and a genuine interest in working with children.
