School Age Program Group Leader at GGE, MES, PSE, and Marco Island

GENERALFUNCTION:

TheSchool Age Enrichment Leader is a vital member of a team of people with thegoal of providing excellent care for school aged children (K-5^th grade)during out of school hours holidays and camp days. Under the guidance of theSite Director he/she will be responsible for direct supervision of childrenimplementation of planned daily activities and maintenance of all aspects ofthe program environment. He/she willmake every effort to develop and foster a positive relationship with thechildren their parents school personnel and community members. Hours are Monday-Friday 2:15pm-6:30pm; full time shift during days when CCPS schools are closed.

ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

1.Befamiliar with YMCA mission policies and procedures.

2.Implementcomponents of the Program as directed by supervisor.

3.Keepthe supervisor informed of all program issues as they arise especially whenrelated to the childrens behavior and development.

4.Assistwith Program procedures for opening and/or closing each day.

5.Takeoverall responsibility for an assigned group of children under the direction ofthe supervisor.

6.Maintainaccurate daily attendance records at all times.

7.Alwaysmonitor and ensure the safety of children.

8.Becomefamiliar with school facilities and staff school expectations and ensure sameexpectations are always being followed with children.

9.Reportall problems incidents and accidents to supervisor as they occur.

10.Completewritten incident and accident reports as necessary with assistance ofSupervisor according to YMCA policies and procedures.

11.Nurturechildren by designing lesson plans that include purposeful programming thatdevelops social-emotional skills fosters achievement supports academic growthand provides enrichment.

12.Maintainand preserve all Program equipment and supplies.

13.Empowerstudents to make positive choices and encourage them to serve as role modelsamongst their peers.

14.Promotea positive relationship with parents by making a point of greeting them dailysharing good news about their children with them and informing them of anyrelevant information in a timely manner.

15.Bean enthusiastic dedicated reliable and committed leader of our team.

MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS:

1.Mustobtain state mandated training of 45 hours with competency exam completedwithin 90 days of hire.

2.Certificationin Infant Child and Adult CPR and Basic First Aid (preferred)

3.18Years or older

4.Musthave own transportation.

5.Mustbe available to work full day shifts on days when Collier County Public Schoolsare closed.

6.Mustbe able to stand remain outdoors and maintain continual physical endurance forextended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds watchlisten and facilitate group activities.

7.Mustbe mentally alert and be able to process and follow directions.

8.Mustbe able to speak read and write fluently in the English language.
