Job Summary
The School Administrative Manager (SAM) supports the campus principal by managing operational and administrative responsibilities that allow the principal to prioritize instructional leadership. The SAM implements the SAM process including monitoring and analyzing the principals use of time coordinating the principals daily schedule to maximize instructional leadership activities and ensuring campus operational functions run efficiently. This role is critical in increasing the principals time spent on activities that improve teaching and learning outcomes.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in education business administration public administration or related field preferred.
- Experience in school administration operations management or office leadership.
- Familiarity with school systems and campus operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implementation of the SAM Process
- Implement the SAM framework to support the principals instructional leadership priorities. Conduct regular Time/Task Analysis to monitor how the principal allocates time.
- Use SAM data protocols to analyze trends and adjust schedules to increase instructional leadership time.
- Participate in regular SAM meetings with the principal to review time use and plan improvements.
- Maintain SAM documentation and reports related to time tracking and leadership activities.
- Principal Schedule Management
- Manage and protect the principals daily and weekly schedule to prioritize instructional activities.
- Coordinate classroom observations coaching meetings PLC participation and instructional walkthroughs.
- Filter requests for the principals time and redirect operational matters when appropriate.
- Ensure the principals calendar reflects the campus instructional priorities.
- Campus Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily administrative operations of the campus office.
- Coordinate logistical needs such as facilities requests transportation coordination and event planning.
- Manage front office staff and administrative support personnel.
- Ensure operational processes run smoothly without requiring the principals direct involvement.
- Communication and Coordination
- Serve as a liaison between the principal staff families and district departments.
- Coordinate meetings agendas and logistics for campus leadership teams.
- Support communication related to school events programs and announcements.
- Data and Reporting
- Maintain records related to SAM time tracking and principal activity analysis.
- Prepare reports that support the evaluation of leadership time allocation.
- Assist the principal in identifying trends that impact instructional leadership effectiveness.
Equipment Used:
All equipment required to perform jobs duties and tasks previously described.
Physical / Environmental Factors:
Mental and Physical Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines and prolonged or irregular hours; Frequent walking standing stooping bending pulling and pushing; Frequent travel to campuses that may be over 150 miles apart. Occasional: Lifting and carrying 10-25 pounds frequently 25-40 pounds occasionally more than 45 pounds infrequently with assistance; Pushing/pulling 10-35 pounds sporadically; May be required under specific circumstances to provide physical restraint of students in danger of causing harm to themselves or others; Frequent region-wide and occasional statewide travel.
