The Opportunity

Cornell Universitys Office of the University Registrar is seeking a collaborative and detail-orientedScheduling Systems Analyst and Academic Classroom Coordinatorto join our Curriculum and Scheduling team.

This position playsan important rolein supporting university-wide classroom scheduling exam scheduling space management and data reporting. Working at the intersection of academic operations and analytics you willleveragedata tooptimizeclassroomutilization support institutional planning improve business processes and enhance the experience of students faculty and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage classroom assignments using scheduling optimization tools and manual placement processes for Ithaca and Cornell Tech campuses

  • Coordinate prelim and final exam scheduling including common exams and support departments faculty and students with resolving scheduling conflicts

  • Develop and deliver operational reports dashboards and data visualizations that support departmental college and institutional decision-making

  • Serve as a resource to a variety of stakeholders and projectswith regard toacademic scheduling data structures systems integrations and relationships

  • Contribute to the development of a growing scheduling data mart in partnership with Cornell Information Technologies

  • Analyze scheduling and spaceutilizationdata toidentifytrends opportunities and process improvements

  • Coordinate with academic departments and faculty to resolve scheduling conflicts and special requestsand ensure compliance with university policies

  • Collaborate with facilities staff building coordinators technology partners and academic departments to ensure space informationremainsaccurateand current

  • Provide backup support for designated 25Live administration functions

  • Assistfaculty staff and students with scheduling-related questions requests and challenges

About the Unit

The Cornell University Office of the University Registrar implements andmonitorsmany academic and administrative policies in coordination with academic units departments colleges and schools tofacilitatefaculty teaching and student learning. The Office of the University Registrar acts as the steward of academic and student information.The Office of the University Registrar champions the continuous renewal of student record systems adapts operations to changing academic needs as well as federal state and institution policies and evaluates administrative processes for streamlining and service improvements.

What We Need

  • Bachelors degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in a higher education student service office (such as a college registrar office)

  • Extensive experience working with Series25 or similar room scheduling software includingexpertisein using administering and supporting integrations related to the system

  • Experience working with Course/Class and Facilities data in Peoplesoft Workday or similar student information systems

  • Demonstrated experience with data structures andproficiencyin reporting and analyzing data; ability to createaccurateandtimelyreports and data visualizations

  • Experience gathering and analyzing requirements for reports and system configuration; ability to provide guidance and recommendationsanticipateimpacts and develop testing and data validation use cases

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users and to liaison effectively with multiple and diverse stakeholders

  • Familiarity with standard office software packages and reporting tools

  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students faculty staff and community members

  • Understanding of FERPA and other policies related to data privacy and ability to interpret and apply policies to daily work: managing confidential information with discretionintegrityand professionalism

  • Outstanding customer service and attention to detail

  • Familiarity withCourseLeafCLSS module and Room Seek functionality
