Scheduler

Job Description

DPR is currently looking for a Project Scheduler. Scheduling will be of commercial projects within our core markets: Healthcare Advanced Technology Life Sciences Higher Education and Corporate Office. Schedulers will work closely with Superintendents Project Managers Estimators and Regional Leadership teams and will be responsible for the following:

• Expert in CPM scheduling theory level of detail and execution.
• Mastery of Oracle Primavera
• Updating schedules
• Database management
• Troubleshooting
• Resource loading and/or crew logic Cost loading Variance reports etc.
• Pre-construction planning design development bid / buy-out long lead procurement items construction sequences startup testing & commissioning.
• Facilitate collaborative planning sessions with DPR project team subcontractors designers and stakeholders to get input for sequencing and durations as it relates to overall project milestones
• Develop contract (baseline) schedule and maintain monthly contract schedule updates in close coordination with superintendents and project team
• Lead planning and scheduling efforts
• Creatively collaborate with your project team especially superintendents to produce accurate schedule updates
• Coordinate with and include subcontractor schedules.
• Create variance reports graphics and narratives to forecast potential issues or conflicts
• Ability to VE a schedule to its shortest responsible duration
• Ability to analyze acceleration options (multiple shifts Weekday OT Weekend OT) to recommend the best cost option and offset against risks with different approaches
• Ability to integrate the schedule and BIM model using 4D tools
• Ability to train other team members on planning & scheduling best practices
• Communication of schedule via tools such as schedule narratives key milestones and high level summaries. - Ability to draft quality schedule narratives respond to schedule comments and succinctly write executive summaries
• Facilitate weekly schedule meetings with the owner and DPR project teams
• Prepare schedule handouts & record action items
• Produce look ahead schedules (e.g. 6 weeks) for weekly OAC meetings
• Effectively communicate schedule issues risks conflicts and mitigation/recovery plans to the owner
• Create visual references / diagrams / graphics using P6 schedule data to further describe the project plan current status and upcoming scopes of work
• Ability to motivate and build trust amongst project teams during planning sessions
• Provide risk management input on key schedule milestones.
• Alert entire project team to potential problem areas or deviations from the plan. Assist in development of recovery plans mitigation options or delay analysis.

Qualifications

We are looking for a flexible detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks produce quality work and consistently meet deadlines. The successful candidate will possess:

• 3 years of experience as a Scheduler preferably within DPRs Core Market projects
• Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering or related field; or equivalent field experience.
• A strong work ethic and a can-do attitude.
• Effective problem solving skills.
• A flexible detailed-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks work with diverse personalities & work styles produce quality work and consistently meet deadlines.
• This position is salaried.
