General Job Description:

As a Scale Operator at our recycling facility your primary is to accurately weigh incoming and outgoing trucks carrying recycling materials. Additionally you will handle cash transactions associated with the weighing services along with recording data and providing excellent customer service to vendors and clients. The accurate measurement of recycling materials is essential for proper inventory management. Your role is crucial in ensuring precise measurement for inventory management billing and providing excellent customer service.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Scale operation:

Operate scales to accurately weigh incoming and outgoing trucks carrying Recycling materials.

Ensure proper calibration and functionality of the scales.

Weigh-in process:

Greet and assist truck drivers during the arrival and weigh-in process.

Record and document the weight of incoming Recycling materials.

Cash-Handling:

Collect cash payments from truck drivers for the weighing services.

Issue receipts and provide accurate change as needed.

Vendor Interaction:

Provide excellent customer service to vendors and clients during the weighing process.

Address inquiries and communicate any relevant information to truck drivers.

Compliance:

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to scale operations.

Stay updated on any changes in regulations affecting scale operations.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Ensure and promote a culture of safety among team members and truck drivers.

Job Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma

Experience and Competencies:

  • Waste Collection and Recycling Experience at least 1 years preferred.
  • Basic computer skills; Word PowerPoint Excel etc.
