Job Summary
A person in this position performs difficult technical work in the installation maintenance and repair of process measurements and control systems electrical/electronic control and continuous emissions monitoring systems SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems and other systems required for operation of treatment plants pumping stations and related facilities and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the SCADA/Instrumentation Supervisor. Oversight is exercised over all SCADA/Instrumentation Technician Is.
Competencies/Experience:
Thorough knowledge of water and wastewater treatment process operation of Pure Oxygen Plant; thorough knowledge of methods practices and procedures in electrical SCADA and instrumentation maintenance and repair work; thorough knowledge of preparing various reports; thorough knowledge of the use of equipment automation and materials needed to perform job functions; thorough knowledge of standard office equipment and applicable software applications; thorough knowledge of the use of Auto CAD PLC and SCADA software applications; general knowledge of the use of hand tools; general knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions required in the work; ability to read and interpret drawings sketches and schematics; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms; ability to diagnose improper operation of equipment or devices and to take proper corrective or remedial action; ability to make arithmetic computations; ability to compute rates ratios and percentages; ability to use basic algebra Boolean Logic and trigonometry to solve problems; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with engineers regulatory agency representatives and associates.
Education:
Associates/Technical degree with coursework in electronics electrical instrumentation computerized controls or related field and considerable experience in working with electrical control systems or equivalent combination of education and experience.
License or Certification:
Possession of or ability to obtain a Forklift Operator certification within 3 months of employment.
Arc Flash/SCBA-Fit Test/Confined Space and Fire Extinguisher training within 12 months of employment.
Possession of or ability to obtain NC Grade II Wastewater Operator certification.
Valid drivers license in the State of North Carolina.
Complete hands-on CPR/First Aid when offered by employer
Obtain a Work Zone Safety certification for the State of North Carolina when offered by employer
Ability to complete all of the designated WSACCs Environmental and Health Training (EHS) for this position by the end of the first calendar year after employment.
