Basic Job Functions:
- Assists workers engaged in the fabrication of structural or sheet metal products by performing any combination of the following tasks: Lifts positions and removes workpieces from machines to assist in fitting.
- Loads stacks and transports stock tools dies and work-in-progress by hand or truck.
- Cuts material using a saw cutting machine; a bandsaw cutting particularly cutting multiple dimensions of square tubing including structural channel. Might work on I-Beam cutting as well.
- Reads drawings and blueprints.
- Understand and follow safety procedures and guidelines.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous manufacturing experience or saw operating experience.
- Able to work 1012-hour rotational shifts as needed overtime weekends and holidays.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work with hand tools.
- Being able to read a tape measure.
Preferred Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience working in a machine shop environment.
