Saturday PSAT Prep Instructor Positions for September and October 2026
Westbrook High School will be offering Saturday preparation sessions for students in grades 10 and 11 in support of the PSAT / NMSQT which is scheduled for Thursday October 22 2026. These sessions are designed to reinforce skills and promote assessment readiness in both Mathematics and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (English Language Arts).
These sessions are open only to Westbrook High School students in grades 10 and 11. Sessions will be provided free of charge. The program is designed to complement in-class instruction and school-based PSAT preparation efforts offering additional targeted support in the weeks leading up to the assessment.
Compensation
$800 stipend (stipend will be prorated if not all sessions are completed).
Compensation includes 8 hours of direct instruction and student supervision as well as preparation time for lesson planning.
Positions Available
2 ELA Instructors (1 teaching Grade 10 and 1 teaching Grade 11)
2 Math Instructors (1 teaching Grade 10 and 1 teaching Grade 11)
Saturday Session Dates and Times
1. Saturday September 19 2026: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
2. Saturday September 26 2026: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
3. Saturday October 3 2026: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
4. Saturday October 17 2026: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Session Structure
Each two-hour session will be divided into two 1-hour instructional blocks:
1 hour of English Language Arts (ELA)
1 hour of Mathematics
Students will be grouped by grade level (10th and 11th) and rotate within their own cohort as follows:
10th-grade students will attend a 10th-grade ELA session and a 10th-grade Math session.
11th-grade students will attend an 11th-grade ELA session and an 11th-grade Math session.
Each instructor will work with the same group (by grade and subject) for the duration of the two-hour session with students rotating classrooms halfway through. Also each instructor and student will receive a PSAT workbook.
