SAP SD Functional Lead (Logistics Execution)

Compensation: $140000 $160000 base salary annual bonus (up to 15%) comprehensive benefits

Seeking an experienced SAP SD Functional Lead to join its SAP Delivery Team headquartered in Nashville Tennessee. This is a high-impact leadership role supporting global SAP S/4HANA transformation initiatives with a primary focus on Sales & Distribution (SD) Logistics Execution including outbound delivery shipping fulfillment and transportation processes.

This position combines functional leadership with hands-on SAP expertise. Approximately 75% of the role involves leading workshops partnering with business stakeholders designing end-to-end solutions and guiding globally distributed teams. The remaining time involves hands-on SAP configuration supporting proof of concepts troubleshooting critical issues and ensuring successful implementations.

• Serve as the Functional Lead for SAP SD with a focus on Logistics Execution.
• Design and implement end-to-end Order-to-Delivery processes.
• Lead business workshops to gather analyze and document functional requirements.
• Translate business needs into scalable SAP solution designs.
• Develop functional specifications and oversee offshore development and configuration teams.
• Perform hands-on SAP configuration when necessary including proof of concepts demos urgent production support and complex solution scenarios.
• Lead and optimize logistics execution processes including:
  • Outbound Delivery Processing
  • Picking Packing and Handling Units
  • Shipping Execution
  • Routing and Scheduling
  • Delivery Fulfillment
• Lead System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Create test plans scripts and validation scenarios.
• Support cutover planning and execute go-live activities.
• Provide hypercare and post-production support following deployments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional SAP teams to ensure successful end-to-end solution delivery.
• Mentor functional consultants and provide leadership to offshore implementation teams.

• Extensive SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) experience with deep expertise in Logistics Execution and outbound delivery processes.
• Proven success leading full lifecycle SAP implementations.
• Strong understanding of Order-to-Cash processes from Sales Order through Delivery and Shipment.
• Experience leading business workshops and interacting directly with executive and operational stakeholders.
• Ability to design functional solutions and prepare detailed functional specifications.
• Strong hands-on SAP configuration experience within SAP SD.
• Experience leading System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Experience planning and supporting production cutovers and SAP go-lives.
• Ability to lead globally distributed and offshore implementation teams.
• Excellent communication leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25 45% based on project requirements.

• SAP S/4HANA implementation experience.
• Experience with Transportation Management or delivery integration.
• Knowledge of Advanced Shipping Notices (ASN) and EDI integrations.
• Experience developing Proof of Concepts (POCs) and solution prototypes.
• Experience supporting large global SAP transformation programs.

Hybrid Work Model

This is a hybrid position requiring employees to work two days per week from one of the office locations.
