Essential Position

Summary: The Membership Counselor serves as the primary point of contact for prospective ThriveMore at Home members and is responsible for guiding individuals and families through the membership evaluation and enrollment process while achieving established membership growth goals. This position manages the sales process from initial inquiry through membership enrollment by educating prospective members and their families communicating the value and benefits of the program and guiding applicants through the decision-making process. The Membership Counselor serves as a trusted resource to prospective members and their influencers effectively communicating program services costs and eligibility requirements. This role works collaboratively with internal teams to facilitate a smooth application process ensuring applicants have a clear understanding of membership qualifications and minimizing eligibility-related misunderstandings.
Qualification Requirements
Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
Minimum of three (3) years of sales experience; senior living healthcare or aging services experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Senior living sales experience.
Experience utilizing CRM systems preferably Enquire/Aline.
Experience in Life Plan Community (CCRC) sales and marketing.
Experience working with older adults and their families.
Knowledge of long-term care insurance aging services senior living home care or healthcare systems.
Experience conducting educational presentations and community outreach events.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Strong interpersonal organizational and customer service skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong consultative selling relationship-building and influence skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to discuss sensitive topics related to aging healthcare caregiving and future planning with empathy and professionalism.
Strong consultative sales skills with the ability to guide prospects through complex purchasing decisions.

Essential Functions
Meets and exceeds established sales and membership goals.
Conducts prospect outreach and follow-up activities to generate and maintain leads.
Delivers educational presentations to community groups faith communities civic organizations and prospective members regarding aging in place and ThriveMore at Home services.
Schedules and conducts educational presentations home visits and consultations with prospective members and their influencers.
Maintains accurate and timely documentation in the CRM system.
Assists with planning and execution of marketing and community outreach events.
Communicates effectively with prospects families and team members throughout the sales process.
Collaborates with program leadership care management and underwriting teams to address prospect concerns and facilitate successful membership enrollment.
Maintains ongoing communication with future members during sales phases.
Independently negotiates and resolves prospect concerns related to membership decisions.
Develops and maintains strategic relationships to support membership goals.
Attends hosts and presents marketing and membership opportunities based on operational needs including evenings weekends and holidays as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
This position is designated as essential to the operations of the organization. Team members in this role may be required to report to work during emergencies inclement weather or other situations when the organization remains operational.
Educates prospects regarding program eligibility requirements and assists them in navigating the application and underwriting process.
Develops maintains and expands referral relationships with financial advisors elder law attorneys healthcare providers faith communities and other community partners.
Maintains an active sales pipeline and utilizes the CRM system to track prospect activity forecast membership growth and ensure timely follow-up.
Complieswithall company policies procedures and applicable laws including HIPAA and the Code of Conduct completing required training and reporting concerns promptly.
Physical Demands/ Qualifications
Prolonged periods of sitting standing walking and computer use.
Ability to communicate effectively in person through email and over the phone.
Ability to travel throughout the program service area currently Raleigh and surrounding communities within approximately a 60-mile radius for outreach presentations meetings and home visits.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
Work is performed remotely in prospective member homes community settings healthcare offices and at educational and outreach events.
Frequent interaction with prospective members families and team members as well as referral sources
May require hosting and/or attendance at events outside normal business hours.
