Indirect Tax Manager

Our client a respected growth-minded manufacturer and distributor is seeking an Indirect Tax Manager who brings sharp technical command and a steady strategic hand. This isnt a narrow compliance role; its a seat at the table where tax strategy directly shapes how the business manages risk and supports growth.

About the opportunity

Youll own tax compliance end to end from federal state and local filings to audit management. That means coordinating tax planning and audits monitoring an ever-shifting regulatory landscape and bringing clear well-reasoned analysis to leadership when it matters most.

Youll also partner closely with finance accounting and operations and support M&A activity through tax due diligence.

What youll do

Own tax compliance across income sales/use property and other business taxes

Coordinate and manage preparation and filing of federal state and local tax returns working with internal resources and external advisors

Monitor evolving tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the business

Develop and implement tax planning strategies that optimize efficiency

Manage audits and inquiries from tax authorities and maintain accurate tax records

Partner with finance accounting and operations to ensure accurate timely tax reporting

Support M&A activity through tax due diligence

What youll bring

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field; CPA preferred

5 years of experience in corporate tax or a related finance role

Required experience in multi-state tax compliance and planning

Experience with ERP platforms is a plus

Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax laws

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the judgment to act on them

Strong communication and interpersonal skills that build trust across teams

Comfort operating in a fast-paced dynamic environment with shifting priorities

Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without current or future sponsorship requirements. Candidate must be commutable to Winston-Salem NC on a daily basis.
