Safety Technician

Job Summary
- Develop implement and maintain environmental and safety policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular environmental and safety audits to assess compliance and identify potential hazards
- Provide training and guidance to employees on environmental policies safety practices and regulatory compliance
- Manage hazardous materials and waste programs including storage disposal and documentation
- Investigate workplace accidents or environmental incidents and implement corrective measures
- Coordinate with management and cross-functional departments to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship
- Stay current with environmental and safety legislation and advise the company on necessary actions
- Prepare maintain and submit safety and environmental reports to relevant authorities
- Support compliance with all EH&S record keeping requirements including corporate and regulatory compliance/program documentation e.g. auditing training medical and OSHA records
- Maintain and update as needed SOPs WISs JPs for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in the day to day training
- Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies arecoordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected.
- Create custom training content based on CWS andClient program requirements
- Perform Weekly Toolbox Training
- Review all JSAs submitted in a timely manner and provide coaching to Business Partners and employees as needed
- Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements
Experience Required:
- Candidates are required to have a valid drivers license and personal vehicle.
- Facility Engineering/Maintenance EHS experience required.
- 1-2 years of experience in environmental health and safety management ideally in a manufacturing or automotive environment
- Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) laws and regulations
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and enforce safety standards
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for employee training and coaching
- Proficient in incident investigation and root cause analysis techniques
- Proficient with EHS-related software and reporting tools

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement the geographic area in which the work will be performed market pay rates in that area and the candidates experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $25.08 - $29.50
