What you will be doing
The Safety Superintendent plays a critical role in ensuring safety systems are effective sustainable and operationally owned while supporting a culture where leaders are accountable for safety performance corrective actions and continuous improvement. This position reports directly to the Senior Safety Manager and supports site-wide safety compliance and risk control initiatives. This role serves as a strategic safety resource focused on program oversight compliance operational partnership and leadership development.
This plays a critical role in ensuring safety systems are effective sustainable and operationally owned while supporting a culture where leaders are accountable for safety performance corrective actions and continuous improvement
This position will be based in Auburn WA.
Main responsibilities:
- Support implementation maintenance and monitor adherence of safety programs policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine safety audits inspections hazard assessments and compliance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor site safety performance metrics trends and leading/lagging indicators.
- Identify program gaps and partner with operations leadership on sustainable corrective measures.
We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
- Four-year degree or equivalent safety leadership experience
- Broad knowledge of federal state and local safety health environmental and workers compensation regulations.
- Position requires strict adherence to health and safety procedures attention to detail good work ethic and a passion for high quality workmanship.
- Knowledge and understanding of workers compensation process and industrial best practices and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint)
- Excellent PC skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
- Strong communication auditing and leadership coaching skills.
- Ability to work independently with a strong sense of urgency and business orientation.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule as operational needs require.
- Occasional travel may be required.
