This position requires security clearance and will support government operations in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining a culture of workplace safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of safety standards exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic Functions Responsibilities & Duties may include but are not limited to:The Safety Representative III will serve as a field safety professional responsible for implementing and maintaining comprehensive Safety & Occupational Health programs across multiple facilities. This position requires a proactive approach to safety management and the ability to work with various stakeholders. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Provide field support for multiple Safety & Occupational Health (SOH) programs across assigned facilities and work sitesSchedule perform and document various types of safety and occupational health inspections to evaluate compliance of buildings facilities and equipment with applicable regulations and standardsConduct thorough assessments of workplace conditions equipment and practices to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocolsPerform safety data input and verification using computer and web-based software applications ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all safety-related documentationResearch develop and create comprehensive training materials including PowerPoint presentations brochures pamphlets and other educational resources on employee and facility safety topicsDevelop lessons learned documentation and mishap protection and prevention materials based on incident investigations and industry best practicesTrack maintain and manage government-furnished inventories of consumable safety materials such as monitoring media replacement sensors and other safety equipmentMaintain accurate records of inventory levels usage rates and procurement needs for safety supplies and equipmentCoordinate and conduct safety training sessions for employees contractors and visitors as requiredPrepare detailed inspection reports findings and recommendations for corrective actionsCollaborate with facility managers supervisors and safety personnel to address identified deficiencies and implement corrective measuresMonitor compliance with established safety programs and regulatory requirementsUtilize creativity and independent judgment to plan and accomplish safety program goalsRespond to safety inquiries and provide technical guidance on safety-related mattersParticipate in safety meetings committees and program reviews as assignedEducation and Experience:Required:Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in the area of safety and occupational health or closely related field (i.e. industrial hygiene)ORBachelors degree with at least 2-4 years of experience in safety and occupational health or closely related fieldMust possess or be able to obtain within 60 days of assignment the following Navy courses or their equivalent:General Industry Standards (Navy Course A)Introduction to HAZMAT Ashore Global On Line (Navy Course A)Electrical Safety Standards (Navy Course A)Clearance Requirement:Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret security clearanceMust be able to pass a T3 Background InvestigationPreferred:Associates degree with at least 6-8 years of experience in safety and occupational health or closely related fieldBachelors degree in Occupational Safety and Health Industrial Hygiene or related field with 2-4 years of experienceCompletion of the following Navy courses or their equivalent:Fire Protection and Life Safety (Navy Course A)Machinery and Machine Guarding (Navy Course A)Required Skills and Competencies:Exceptional knowledge of standard concepts practices and procedures within the safety fieldComprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations safety standards and compliance requirementsStrong proficiency in conducting safety inspections and evaluating facility complianceExcellent computer skills with experience in safety data management systems and web-based software applicationsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite particularly PowerPoint Word and Excel for creating training materials and documentationStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear concise reports and training materialsExcellent organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesDemonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgmentStrong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry record-keeping and documentationAbility to research and synthesize safety information from various sourcesCreativity and innovation in developing training materials and safety communicationsPhysical ability to conduct field inspections including walking climbing and accessing various facility areasStrong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriatelyCurrent or ability to obtain Secret security clearanceDesired Skills and Competencies:Professional safety certification (CSP CHST OHST or ASP)Experience working in a government contracting or military installation environmentFamiliarity with Navy safety programs policies and proceduresKnowledge of industrial hygiene principles and monitoring techniquesExperience with fire protection and life safety systemsUnderstanding of machinery guarding requirements and machine safety standardsExperience with HAZMAT management and compliance programsProficiency in additional safety management software systemsTraining certification or instructional design experienceFirst Aid/CPR certificationKnowledge of environmental compliance requirementsExperience with mishap investigation and root cause analysis methodologiesFamiliarity with DoD safety requirements and standardsAdvanced degree in Occupational Safety Industrial Hygiene or
