Job Summary
SummaryBalfour Beatty is seeking a Safety Health & Environmental Manager in Hermiston/Umatilla OR. This position is responsible for the implementation of the companys safety health and environmental programs. Ensures jobsite employees and subcontractors are trained in all safety programs and protocol including federal/state regulations in order to prevent accidents and/or FunctionsConducts new employee project orientation and basic training with Balfour Beatty and subcontractor Safety Health and Environmental and Operations in preparing safety related bid documents and project-specific safety all Safety Health and Environmental efforts on the project with the Project Manager and subcontractor preconstruction meetings review task specific Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and assist with planning for safety with material and equipment acquisition for new project frequent inspections of projects and identifies current and future safety Safety Health and Environmental in establishing and administering project safety recognition written reports of project inspections and assists project staff with correcting and preventing project safety technical safety consulting services for projects and reviews preconstruction safety Safety Health and Environmental and project staff with safety training at all with establishing and maintaining a project crisis management accident investigations and assists with OSHA and environmental workers compensation claims including the return to work project incident logs for all reported injuries GL claims WC claims and OSHA Superintendent with sediment and erosion control and other environmental Customer RelationsBuilds effective relationships with customers design team subcontractors suppliers and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customers participates in industry client and community relations to enhance company image. Culture Leadership and Employee DevelopmentServes as a role model and promotes professional behavior. Participates in company training programs and commits to self-development. Keeps current with new developments in OSHA regulations and company safety policies and communicates to the appropriate jobsite key BBC-wide initiatives like Zero Harm and does ones part to demonstrate relentless behaviors and embeds them into our culture. Perform other related duties as assignedWorking ConditionsThe majority of work is completed on job sites in an office trailer or in an existing structure. Due to daily condition changes on construction projects when employees are outside of the office trailer or structure they must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the companys safety policies and as required for weather project team and/or team member may need to move to other projected work geographic locations if RequirementsB.S. in Safety & Environmental Health or related field preferred and 7 years of experience preferably in the construction industry. Depending upon the project size scope and complexity the years of experience may vary. Certification as a Construction Site Safety Technician (CSST) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) accurate record keeping solid customer service skills and verbal/written the ability to be a team player and function in a fast-paced changing the ability to mentor/train leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges solve problems and motivate others while maintaining effective relationships with customers by meeting or exceeding their requirements and proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools such as email internet and Microsoft products (e.g. Word Excel Office Outlook). Pay Range: $122000 - $135000*This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and the range may be modified in the future. An employees pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills seniority geographic location performance shift travel requirements sales orrevenue-based metrics any collective bargaining agreements and business or organizational needs. No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any bonus commission or any other form of compensation that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Companys sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Companys sole discretion consistent with the law.
