Safety & Environmental Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Primary responsibilities will center on ensuring compliance with Local State and Federal EHS regulations.
• Ensure that OSHA EPA and TCEQ guidelines are met and all documentation is prepared and stored for the required timeframe.
• Provide ongoing support leadership and guidance and direct effort to achieve and maintain Star status under OSHAs Voluntary Protection Program.
• Develop implement and maintain Safety & Health Policies Plans and Procedures.
• Conduct new employee safety orientation training.
• Periodic/Annual training courses regarding specific safety issues relevant to the work environment.
• Provide ongoing support to facility personnel and leadership in the identification of workplace hazards reporting and investigation of incidents.
• Works with department supervision to conduct incident investigations in a thorough and timely manner to determine root cause and prevention.
• Conducts frequent plant safety inspections and observes workers for safe and unsafe behaviors.
• Develop maintain and report on key safety performance indicators.
• Scheduling and coordinating required monitoring and sampling pursuant to Facility Industrial Hygiene/Environmental factors. (air quality noise etc.)
• Managing local and state permitting sampling requirements and waste manifests. This includes experience with SDCP Title V and IWW Permitting)
• The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive;
• Travel regionally as needed.
