Position Overview:The Safety Administrator will support the Safety Department in the administration and coordination of safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations including OSHA and DOT standards. The role involves managing safety documentationassistingin training coordination tracking incidents and supporting safety initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Program Support:
- Assistinmaintainingand updating safety policies procedures and programs.
- Coordinate safety meetings briefings and training sessions for employees.
- Assistin the development and distribution of safety communications bulletins and updates.
- Support the Safety Manager and other personnel with administrative duties related to safety initiatives.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain safety-related records including training records certifications incident reports and inspection records.
- Track andmonitorsafety statistics and provide regular reports to management.
- Ensureaccurateandtimelyreporting of incidents near misses and safety inspections.
- Organize and manage all safety documentation to ensure compliance with OSHA and DOT standards.
- Incident and Inspection Tracking:
- Assistin tracking and reporting workplace incidents and near misses.
- Monitor the follow-up and resolution of corrective actions from incidents inspections and audits.
- Assistwith safety inspections and audits ensuring findings are documented and addressed.
- Training and Compliance:
- Support the scheduling and coordination of safety training sessions.
- Track employee participation in safety training and ensure compliance with required certifications.
- Assistinmaintainingup-to-date training materials and records for safety programs.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Assistin ensuring that all safety practicescomply withOSHA DOT and other relevant regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in safety regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates or Bachelorsdegreeina related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience ina safetyadministration or similar role preferably within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with OSHA DOT and other safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience in managing safety documentation and supporting safety training initiatives is a plus.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.-Will get w/in30 days
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred.Will get w/in30 days
- Additionalsafety certifications (e.g. CHST - Construction Health and Safety Technician) are an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint) and safety management software.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communicationskills both verbal and written.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and incident reporting systems.
Physical Demands:
- Sit for extended periods of time
- Use hands and fingers tooperatea computer keyboard mouse and other office equipment
- Communicate effectively in person by phone and electronically
- Stand and walk occasionally throughout the workday
- Reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally lift and/or move items up to 20 pounds (e.g. files office supplies equipment)
- Read printed documents and view information on computer screens
