RS NDT Eng Spec IIIin GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
Working knowledge with NAS 410. Ability to present highly technical infomaiton to Repair Station Leadership both verbally and in writting. Strong leadership qualities and experience leading an NDT Team of professionals across multipule methods. Position will require travel to other facilities domestically and abroad.
- Establish standards for and/or develop NDT procedures to ensure robust process control including the Gulfstream Shop Practice Manual or Service Manuals as assigned .
- Support root cause and corrective action of NDT related MRB to eliminate repetitive rework and continuously improve existing techniques balancing technical product cost and schedule .
- Team support of cross-functional product teams (PDT) .
- Identify appropriate methods/techniques for NDT inspection of pre-cured/co-cured or manufactured composite and metals components/articles .
- Measure and document the capabilities of production inspection methods relative to flaw size and type to support development of robust design incorporating NDT inspection capabilities .
- Interpret Engineering drawings/requirements and develop recommendations for management and engineering staff to determine quality standards for nondestructive testing .
- Supports and assess NDT evaluation technologies in support of new and existing programs and improve manufacturing process inspection using NDT methods .
- Maintain current knowledge of developments in the field of composites and/or related manufacturing technologies in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company products equipment and services .
- Provide certification and training services for Gulfstream as assigned .
- Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product .
- Must provide formal NDT training and certification records.
- 2 ASNT Level 3 certifications required.
- Capable of operating data analysis and computer software for NDT testing.
- Advanced composite experience (production and applications) preferred.
- Experience with FAA or equivalent production approval inspection methods and approval preferred.
- Experience with interpreting codes and specifications writing/reviewing NDE procedures techniques & NDE engineering process specifications preferred.
