The Automation Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining troubleshooting upgrading and optimizing our automated systems. The Automation technician will provide technical expertise promote Safety Quality Cost & Reliability that support World Class Operations and demonstrate leadership through the maintenance strategy.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Must be willing to work weekends holidays rotating shifts and scheduled and unscheduled overtime
- Two-year college degree or other education training and certifications
- Demonstratable experience with PLC Programing HMIs Wonderware and/or FTVIEW scaling instrumentation PID loops
- Four-year college degree or other education training and certifications.
- Emerson/GE & Control Logixs Experience
- Experience commissioning & trouble shooting AB & ABB Drives
- Working Knowledge of common protocols (e.g. Ethernet/IP ControlNet Modbus Profibus etc.)
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E-Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
