Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth were looking to add a Robotics/Mechatronics Engineering Co-Op located in our Libertyville IL site.
Reporting to Process & Automation Engineering Team the student will support robotic handling systems AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robots) ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval System) validation and vision integration across molding and automation systems while collaborating and working alongside Engineers and cross-functional teams.
What a typical day looks like:
- Assist with robot path optimization and cycle time studies
- Support ASRS AMR validation and mechanical improvements
- Assist with vision system tuning and validation
- Support safety interlock verification
- Participate in troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives
- Attend team meetings to support project work as needed
Student qualities were seeking for this Co-Op assignment:
- Junior/Senior student pursuing Bachelors degree in Robotics Engineering Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering major
- Basic knowledge of industrial robotics (robot motion end-of-arm tooling path programming)
- Understanding of AMR and ASRS systems fundamentals (navigation material flow validation concepts)
- Ability to perform cycle time analysis and optimization studies
- Understanding of automation safety principles
- Strong troubleshooting and hands-on problem-solving skills
- Previous manufacturing floor internship experience a plus!
Co-Op Program Requirements:
- Ability to work 40 hours/week (in person) during the Spring 2027 co-op assignment
- Currently enrolled in 4-year accredited university
- 3.0 GPA
