Job Summary
In this role you will collaborate across multiple organizations to design develop procure install and qualify new manufacturing equipment delivering full production ready processes. The Industrialization team will provide technical support and implement solutions for the Schenectady factory to improve Safety Quality Delivery and Cost.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of advanced robotic systems throughout various Generator Manufacturing processes.
Design & Development: Create and refine blueprints and prototypes for robots and automated systems including designing robotic structures electronic circuits and control interfaces
Programming: Write code for robot movements develop control algorithms and create software to manage robotic systems and applications.
Integration: Incorporate sensors artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies to enhance robot autonomy learning and interaction with their environment.
Testing & Debugging: Configure test and debug robotic hardware and software to ensure they perform reliably precisely and safely
Maintenance & Support: Install calibrate operate and maintain robotic systems providing technical support and troubleshooting for issues that arise.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited university or college
3 or more years of experience with robotics and automation in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in programming languages like C Python and knowledge of control systems embedded systems microcontrollers and computer-aided design (CAD) software
Eligibility Requirements
Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.
Desired Characteristics
Proven technical experience in a heavy industrial production manufacturing environment.
Strong equipment troubleshooting experience and attention to detail.
Ability to coordinate and manage several projects simultaneously
Experience working with vendors and OEMs / construction companies to execute projects/repairs/upgrades.
Strong interpersonal skills ability to influence others and lead small teams.
Technical print and specification reading and writing abilities.
