Were seeking a Robotic Welding Engineer to support and optimize automated welding operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This is a backfill opportunity with a well-established manufacturer where welding represents approximately 42% of the companys production workforce making this a highly visible engineering role with significant impact on manufacturing performance.
The engineer will focus on robotic programming weld process optimization equipment implementation troubleshooting automated welding systems and continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality throughput and reliability.
Responsibilities
Program troubleshoot and optimize industrial welding robots (ABB experience preferred; FANUC is okay too).
Develop and improve robotic welding processes for quality repeatability and cycle time.
Optimize welding parameters including wire feed voltage travel speed shielding gas and torch positioning.
Support new robotic cell installations and production launches.
Collaborate with manufacturing maintenance tooling and quality teams to improve automation performance.
Troubleshoot robotic mechanical electrical and welding process issues to minimize downtime.
Support fixture improvements TCP calibration robot recovery and preventive maintenance efforts.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity quality and cost reduction.
Train production and maintenance personnel on robotic welding systems and best practices.
Ensure compliance with welding standards and manufacturing safety requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
3 years of robotic welding engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred industries: Heavy equipment metal fabrication manufacturing.
Avoid backgrounds: non industrial backgrounds
Salary range: DOE
