Registered Nurse (RN) Wound Care

Location: New York NY 10037
Pay Rate: $75 - $81/hour (DOE)
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Wound Care to join a specialized wound care team. The Wound Care RN is responsible for assessing planning implementing and evaluating care for patients with wounds ostomies continence issues fistulas and other complex skin integrity concerns.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments focused on wound ostomy and continence-related conditions

• Perform focused physical assessments and develop individualized plans of care

• Assess document and monitor patient responses to wound care treatments and interventions

• Evaluate and manage complex wounds pressure injuries ostomies fistulas and continence-related conditions

• Recommend appropriate wound care treatments products medications and therapeutic interventions

• Assess patients at risk for pressure injuries and initiate preventive measures

• Coordinate care plans and collaborate with physicians nursing staff therapists and healthcare professionals

• Provide patient family and caregiver education regarding wound prevention ostomy management and continence care

• Serve as a wound care resource and consultant for nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based wound care programs

• Assist in developing and evaluating wound care standards policies and best practices

• Manage wound care-related equipment and resources

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements patient privacy standards and organizational policies

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN or ADN) from an accredited nursing program

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License

• Minimum 2 Years of Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Nursing Experience

• Wound Care and Colostomy/Ostomy Experience Required

• Strong assessment patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration skills

• Knowledge of wound care products therapies and evidence-based practices

Required Certifications

• AHA BLS Certification

• One of the following certifications:

  • CWOCN (Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse)

  • CWON (Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse)

  • CWCN (Certified Wound Care Nurse)

  • CWS (Certified Wound Specialist)

  • WCC (Wound Care Certified)
