Title: Registered Nurse Progressive Care Unit / Telemetry

Hours: 36 hours per week 7:00 PM 7:00 AM Every Other Weekend

Location: Cape May NJ

Dates: July 20 October 17 2026

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) team for a night shift opportunity. This position will primarily support the Telemetry PCU caring for patients who require continuous cardiac monitoring and a higher level of care than a medical-surgical unit while not requiring intensive care services.

The ideal candidate is confident managing complex cardiac patients has extensive telemetry experience in a Level I Trauma Center and is comfortable floating to various inpatient units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care/Telemetry Unit.
• Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms responding promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications including cardiac drips in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Perform ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Collaborate with physicians respiratory therapists case managers and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Accurately document patient care using the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses treatments medications and discharge planning.
• Float to other hospital units based on staffing and patient care needs while maintaining high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

Required

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Minimum 3 years of Telemetry nursing experience in a Level I Trauma Center
• Pediatric nursing experience
• Experience managing cardiac drips
• Experience using EPIC electronic medical records
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
