Title: Registered Nurse Progressive Care Unit / Telemetry
Hours: 36 hours per week 7:00 PM 7:00 AM Every Other Weekend

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) team for a night shift opportunity. This position will primarily support the Telemetry PCU caring for patients who require continuous cardiac monitoring and a higher level of care than a medical-surgical unit while not requiring intensive care services.
The ideal candidate is confident managing complex cardiac patients has extensive telemetry experience in a Level I Trauma Center and is comfortable floating to various inpatient units as needed.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care/Telemetry Unit.
Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms responding promptly to changes in patient condition.
Administer medications including cardiac drips in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
Perform ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
Collaborate with physicians respiratory therapists case managers and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Accurately document patient care using the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses treatments medications and discharge planning.
Float to other hospital units based on staffing and patient care needs while maintaining high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
Required
Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) License
Minimum 3 years of Telemetry nursing experience in a Level I Trauma Center
Pediatric nursing experience
Experience managing cardiac drips
Experience using EPIC electronic medical records
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
