Job Summary
The Actors Fund Home an assisted living skilled nursing accredited dementia care and sub-acute rehabilitation center located in Englewood NJ and a recipient of a CMS Five Star Rating seeks a Unit Manager to join our nursing management team in overseeing the day to day operations of our sub-acute unit.
JOB DUTIES:
- Oversee the day to day operations of 25 bed sub-acute rehabilitation unit
- Continually assist with admission and discharge plans
- Discuss care coordination with family members; assist with care planning process
- Clinical management of medical needs for optimal patient care
- Coordinate outside specialties
- Supervise RNs & LPNs as well as CNAs to ensure compliance with daily activities; staff unit to ensure nursing care needs of residents are met
- Ensure that the Nurse Call Alert System (call bell system) is answered promptly and monitored via cordless phones and digital displays
- Maintain and monitor patient charts all electronic charting and confidential files
- Participate in department meetings quality improvement endeavors team committees & policy/procedure development as needed
- Ensure regulatory compliance in the unit
- May need to float to other units to cover as Nursing Supervisor on duty
- Perform other assigned duties as designated by Director if Nursing
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid New Jersey license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Nursing Supervisor in an assisted living facility long term care facility or other related health care facility
- Must be competent in supervision leadership and able to work in cooperation with other staff members
- Possess strong leadership qualities that promote team building professionalism and organizational dedication
- Adaptable to change and able to handle emergencies
- Must be tactful and courteous with residents families practitioners co-workers and others
- Must be able to lift move and carry supplies up to 25lbs
- Must be able to work beyond the normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary
- Must have an understanding of affection for and a desire to work with seniors
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of electronic charting EMAR & ETAR a plus
ABOUT THIS POSITION
This is a full-time salaried position based in The Actors Fund Home in Englewood NJ. The successful candidate must be able to cover assigned shifts on a regular basis including holidays and should be available to cover vacations/call outs of other supervisors and/or DON on occasion.
