Job Summary

Penick Village Inc. Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) is seeking compassionate professional and dedicated Registered Nurses to join our clinical team. We are currently hiring Full time and Part time for 7am-3pm 3pm-11pm 11pm-7am or weekends.

Primary Responsibility:

Must be a compassionate and professional RN Supervisor to carry out Penick Villages vision and goals of delivering the highest level of care in our facility. As the RN Supervisor you will supervise residents care and assist the healthcare team with clinical oversight quality assurance and performance improvement activities as needed. The RN Supervisor will have oversight for clinical staff to include RNs LPNs CNAs Med Techs and Med Aides in accordance with policies and procedures and state specific nurse practice acts. As part of an interdependent team of skilled and caring people the RN Supervisor must act in accordance with current federal state and local standards guidelines and regulations that govern Penick Village to ensure that the highest quality of resident care and safety is maintained always.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing assigned area in a manner consistent with the organizations mission values goals and objectives to ensure customer safety and satisfaction.
  • Interpreting and communicating facility and department of nursing missions and resident/patient care standards to staff residents/patients and family members.
  • Create a conducive environment for continuity of care staff development and job satisfaction
  • Serve as a Liaison between family members and staff communicating changes in resident status new orders and interventions implemented to maintain optimal level of care.
  • Supervise licensed and unlicensed personnel.
  • Assist with staffing needs
  • Provide in-services and mandatory training of new existing associates as needed.
  • Monitor all entries on flow sheets notes charts etc. to ensure they are documented in an informative and descriptive manner.
  • Complete medication and chart audits per schedule.
  • Assist with daily stand-up report and follow up on necessary items.
  • Visit with scheduled residents on a weekly basis and document.
  • Monitor medication passes for compliance with regulations.
  • Assist with orientation and all training necessary to ensure competency readiness of all new hires as needed.
  • Monitor to ensure only authorized abbreviations used when recording information.
  • Monitor for changes in the residents condition and address appropriate information so that it can be entered into the residents care plan.
  • Assist with follow up on all accidents and incidents that occur.
  • Periodically review department policies procedures and job descriptions and make recommendations for revisions.
  • Implement established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the development maintenance and implementation of the communitys quality assurance program.
  • Request conferences with your supervisor as needed to discuss resident personnel and community related business.
  • Participate in community surveys conducted by authorized regulatory agencies as requested.
  • Review care plans regularly to determine if changes in the residents daily care routine have been made on the care plan.
  • Ensure that your notes/documentation reflect that the care plan is being followed.
  • Oversee documentation of all residents charts.
  • Provide patient care and administer medications as needed.
  • Provide Hepatitis B Tuberculosis and influenza injections as needed
  • Facilitates continuity of care for residents requiring homecare services hospice or other third-party healthcare related services.
  • Participating in resident and family education and counseling
  • Fill in for Staff Nurse Infection Control Nurse ADON or DON as needed in accordance with nurse practice act.
  • Workdays evenings night shift and weekends as needed for staffing in service or clinical needs
  • Receive 24-hour report from all Healthcare areas including information regarding Independent Living residents (this would include the Assistance responder reports).
  • Report changes in residents condition and other pertinent nursing information to Director of Nursing and others involved in daily standup meeting.
  • Attend daily stand-up meeting for Clinical Support Team as able.

Education:

  • Valid NC RN License
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years Nursing experience
  • Minimum 2 years managerial experience
  • Strong working knowledge of regulatory compliance
  • Current American Heart BLS CPR Certification
